Thenavattu

Thenavattu Movie Review

Thenavattu a Kollywood movie Directed by V.V.Kathir. It stars Jeeva and Poonam Bajwa. Antony is producing this movie under the banner ELK Productions. Srikanth Deva scores music for this movie. The man behind the camera is Vetri.

Srikanth Deva has tuned five songs for the movie with Na.Muthukumar penning lyrics for all the five! The film itself is supposed to be an action entertainer. What pleases the ear is the imaginative use of violins. Solo from a love-lorn soul, so to speak! The refrain' Tholil saayum podhu' in high pitch adds the right touch of dramatic contrast to the low pitched rendering. The raga Kaapi seems to have been used imaginatively here. Has every right to jump up the charts soon.

Aayutham Seivom

Aayutham Seivom Movie Review

Aayutham Seivom a Tamil film directed by Udhayan star cast Sundar .C, Anjali, Vivek, Napoleon, Nazer, Vijayakumar, Suganya, Manivannan, G.M. Kumar, Ponnambalam.

Though the film is titled "Ayudam Seiyom" (Let us make arms), the protagonist is against violence. The theme is that what ultimately triumphs is love/ kindness and not weapons and violence. The hero is one who believes that good ideals are only a burden. In course of time he changes his outlook on life and starts working for others to help them achieve their noble objectives. What brings about the change in him is the question which "Ayudom Seivom" seeks to answer. Many situations are depicted in the film. It is one of these situations which changes the hero's attitude to life overnight and transforms him from being a rowdy to a man who personifies humanism. He serves as a catalyst for change in society around him.

Director-turned-actor Sundar C has made his mark in "Thalainagaram", "Veerappu", "Sandai" as a good hero. In "Ayudom Seivom", his role combines action, comedy, and sentim Sundar C and Vivek dance to the song, "Kandom, Kandom Sabaiyore...Kaiyeduthu Kumbidugirom Sabaiyore.." Vivek himself has sung this song.

Sanda Movie Review

Thangalakshmi (Nadiya) is a big businesswoman in Bangkok. She fixes a match for her only daughter Abhinaya (Rahini). Her only condition is that the wedding should take place in her native village near Coimbatore. The reason - she has a wager with her brother, whom she believes has murdered her husband Kamaraj (Napoleon).

Right on the very first day in her village, some goons try to kidnap Abhinaya. However, Thangalakshmi rescues her. She learns that the goons were sent by her brother. Hence, to protect her she appoints Kaththi (Sundar C.), a ruffian. Kaththi learns that Thangalakshmi's property is worth 5000 crores and decides to marry Abhinaya. For this, he teams up with Mani (Vivek) who is also after Abhinaya.

Circumstances force Thangalakshmi to marry Abhinaya to Kaththi. But it is only after the marriage she learns that Kaththi is none other than Kathiresan, her brother's son. Angered, she takes Abhinaya away from Kathir. Kathir makes a wager that he'll make Abhinaya love him in seven days. Who wins the wager and whether it was really Kathir's dad who had killed Kamaraj is told in an engaging manner by director Sakthi Chidambaram.

Sundar C. seems to have improved his acting skills and is a delight to watch. However, he could improve upon his dance movements. Nadiya as Thangalakshmi pulls off her role with aplomb. The duel between the two works very well. Newcomer Ragini and Namitha add to the glamour quotient. Vivek's comic one-liners have the audience in splits. The rest of the supporting cast has provided adequate support to the protagonists.
